CHICAGO NYE 2020

 CONCEPT: illuminate the dichotomy between natural elements and urban environments within our city, while utilizing creative expression in order to fuse their synergistic harmony.

STAGE DESIGN: cement facade and fluorescent acrylic columns with painted murals, moss, foliage, and vibrant spot and backlights.

PORTAL: cement facade with moss, foliage, and vibrant lighting.

INTERACTIVE INSTALLATION: guests can paint on cement wall.

FLUORESCENT LOUNGE: cement facade step-and-repeat with, "WE ARE ALL STARTS” neon sign. Along with sod, foliage, pillows, and possibly hammocks if step-and-repeat is not implemented.

FLUORESCENT COLUMN: general space decor that includes foliage and an uplight internally with a cement base.

THE PRESENCE OF ORGANIC ELEMENTS AND TECHNOLOGY WORKING IN TANDEM WITH ONE ANOTHER PLAYS A CRITICAL ROLE IN OUR HUMANITY; BEING AWARE ENOUGH TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND BALANCE THE DUALITY IN PERFECTLY PERCEIVED HARMONY TAKES DEVOTION IN UNDERSTANDING OUR ANCESTRAL PURPOSE AND INNOVATIVE NATURE.

iN ALIGNMENT WITH SIKU “That duality is reflected [IN thE record WITH] the coming together of sounds, whether electronic or organic, past or present, local or global,” IT IS A REPRESENTATION OF A HARMONIC UNDERSTANDING THAT BRINGS THE OLD AND THE NEW AT PEACE WITH ONE ANOTHER.

THIS INTENTION IS SHOWCASED WITHIN THE INSTALLATION BY BRINGING NATURAL MATERIALS AND TECHNOLOGY THAT WILL REPRESENT THE SYNERGISTIC RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE TWO.

/stage DESIGN /

scenic ELEMENTS

fluorescent green acrylic: this material will be a representation of inorganic material used and developed further within our humanity. It will also be an aesthetically pleasing visual element that is vibrant when spotlit with blue or UV light.

cement facade: this material will represent the urban element

moss: moss has a sacred, everlasting breath to it; it lives beyond and in tandem with many elements. Utilizing this material along the cement facade will showcase the existence of differing elements and their harmonious presence.

LIGHTING

Floor/Backlighting for Artist: this will provide more of a silhouette with focus on the sounds and scenic elements. spotlights available for non-dj performances.

Fixed spotlights for columns: this will ensure the fluorescent acrylic, cement facade, and murals will be vibrant and visible

FIXED SPOTLIGHT FOR THE FRONT OF THE DJ BOOTH: will also ensure visibility of facade, it’s elements, and the “we are all starts” verbiage
